The Six Individual Skills
There are six basic individual skills that each player should learn
(or improve upon) during the season:
-
dribbling - the most basic skill of soccer
-
passing - accuracy is the key
-
trapping - gaining control of a passed (or free) ball
-
throw-in - seems simple but many mistakes are made.
-
dribbling past an opponent
-
preventing an opponent from dribbling past you
-
Our practices will focus on these skills. The players
should try to use these skills in their games. All of these can also
be practiced at home.
Note that shooting is not listed! A shot is just a
pass into the goal!
