General Information for all Parents

All this information can be found at http://www.bjb.org/soccer/.

Items each child should bring to each practice:
dress for the weather
water bottle
size 4 soccer ball
shin guards under socks
optional:
cleats (no spikes)
mouthguard
Team jerseys will be handed out at the first practice and should be worn as part of the uniform at all games.

Our objectives for this season are: to have FUN!, learn a few soccer skills, practice good sportsmanship, get some exercise, and to have FUN!

Help from parents at practices and games is greatly appreciated. During practices, we need your assistance for general crowd control, and we may need help in some of the drills. Also, your children will feel more comfortable if you are nearby.

Our games will consist of two 20 minute halves.  There are substitutions.  We have 11 players on the team so there will be alot of playing time.  Everyone will play every game and we will attempt to keep the minutes as equal as possible.  Additionally, all players will play all positions (except maybe goalkeeper) during the season. This is to provide the children with the best possible learning opportunities.

Please remember that one of the most important things you can do from the sidelines is to provide encouragement. Please DO NOT give any criticism to players, opponents, refs or coaches during a game or practice. If you have any comments please direct them to me in private. Your children will be watching and it is very important to set a good example. Poor sportsmanship from anyone will not be tolerated.
