Keeper sends out ball to start. rotate D and K. var: 3 move up and sends ball from behind; wing sends ball from side; send ball from corner kick spot. coaching points: quick pressure on ball, 2nd D plays pass and man, communication, don't get beat, let attacker make mistake, stay goalside **6v6+K Belly Down! - 6 attackers at midfield. 6 defenders outside penalty area lying down on belly, head toward goal. On silent signal, attack begins. On loud signal, D gets up and play continues to ball out, shot or score. coaching points: D must first find and stop ball, then pick up closest marks and eliminate passing options, provide depth for support, communication!, stop drill to point out issues as needed. **6v3+3+K recovery run - 6 attackers near bottom of center circle, 3 D outside penalty area, 3 D at top of center circle. Go - when O touches the ball, midfield D players recover quickly. coaching points: D must first find and stop ball, then pick up closest marks and eliminate passing options, recovering D must get goalside first... then join in D, provide depth for support, communication!, stop drill to point out issues as needed. **7v7+K scrimmage coaching points: delay O, don't always try to steal - especially last D, good cover - cut off passing angles. **shooting contest - 5 gates: 2/5 20 yds, 3/4 30 yds 3 4 2 5 1 start behind 1 with 4 balls. go - get ball, go through 1, then shoot through 2, go through 1, get ball, go through 1, shoot through 3, etc. score 2pts for each gate scored upon; 1pt for each second faster than 30 sec (if all 4 gates scored upon); ; -1pt for each second slower than 30 sec.
