Tues. Apr. 10, 8P, Hayes arena We will be working on the skills of: Dribbling to beat an opponent 1v1 **Warm-Up 30x30 grid, all players dribbling and moving. Then, half the players on each side of the grid, all dribble across the grid (heads up!) Warm-up moves: 1. inside/inside 2. inside/outside 3. outside/inside 4. laces 5. laces tap-tap 6. Toe touches moving forward alternating feet 7. Toe touches moving backwards alternating feet. 8. Side hop rolls moving forward, first right foot then back with left. 9. Outside foot touches with "fast feet" between touches. Stretch Now, moving around the grid: 1. cut 2. Lunges. 3. Pull V's, alternating feet. 4. Scissors. 5. Double scissors. **1v1 1. 15x10 grid, half the players at each of 2 diagonal corners, one side has the balls 2. 1st player plays ball to opposite player then provides light pressure. 3. player with the ball attempts to dribble across far line. 4. players go to end of the opposite line. **1v1+1 1. 10x10+10x10 adjacent grids. line of attackers at one end, line of defenders at the other. 2. 1 attacker starts at one end, 1 D at middle line defending first grid only, 1 D at end line, defending 2nd grid only. 3. attacker attempts to dribble through both grids. 4. attacker goes to end of D line. D1 goes to end of attack line. D2 goes to D1. | | | AAAA A D1 D2 DDDDD | | | **Timed test 1. cones set up: (use 2 courses). player stands behind start line w/ 1 foot on ball. x2x 10 ox 10 ox 5 5 ox 10 ox 10 x2x 2. timer starts when player crosses start gate. 3. player dribbles across and in front of cones (where o's are) 4. timer stops when player crosses end gate and stops ball. **If time remains, 7v6 scrimmage to open goal (or with 1 keeper). If D steals must get ball past "back-court line". coaching points: have fun, communicate, move, attackers should try to take on a D player 1v1
