Jun. 15, 7P, EVHS grid We will be working on the skills of: ball control and organization in the box **footwork warm-up - 2 grids of 16 cones (3 additional cones on each side of grid for next drill) - players start at A and dribble around cones using square cuts - inside of foot only - outside of foot only - forward inside of foot, side outside of foot - forward inside of foot, scissors, side outside of foot **Passing/Receiving warm-up - Dutch square #1, 2, 3 3 25x25 grids, 5+ players per grid: need 2 players at A, C 1 player at B,D, ball at A AND C! C D B A #1. check, receive (need 2 at A, C) (square pass, move to next pos) - B checks away then rcv pass from A. A moves to next position. - C checks away then rcv pass from B. B moves to next position. continue then add a 2nd ball at C #2. check, receive, lay off (need 2 at A, C) (square pass, lay-off, square pass, move to next pos) - B checks away then rcv pass from A. A follows pass moving slightly to middle. - B lays ball back to A. A passes to C and moves to B position. B moves to C. - D checks away then rcv pass from C. C follows pass moving slightly to middle. - D lays ball back to C. C passes to A and moves to D position. D moves to A. continue pattern then add a 2nd ball at C #3. check, receive, give and go (need 2 at A, C) (square pass, gng, continue) - B checks away then rcv pass from A. Play normal scrimmage but players must stay in zones.
