We will be working on the skills of:
 transition to D

**Fundamental Warm-Up
Ajax triangle - 8yd triangle, A/B/C, balls at A.  A passes to B, B passes to C on the
 move toward A, C dribbles to end of A line.  A and B follow passes to end of other line.
1. A passes w/ rt foot, B traps w/ left, passes w/ rt, C receives w/ left
2. A passes w/ left, B traps w/ left, passes w/ rt, C receives w/ outside of rt
3. A passes w/ left, B 1-touches w/ rt, C receives w/ left
4. reverse the direction and switch feet.
Diamond.
coaching points: heads up, good first touch, receive in direction of pass or movement,
 accurate pass with pace.
Next: 3 players – 1 passes to 2, 2 passes to 3, 2 overlaps 3, 3 passes to 1, 1 passes to 2
Coaching points - accurate pass, pass to side to facilitate next pass, clean receive
 in direction of next pass, communicate, know where to pass before receiving, watch
 teammates movement, short or long pass decision, pace of pass

**stretching circle

**simple 4v4 transition game
2 20x10 grids each with a midline.  In each grid: 2 teams w/ pinnies 4v4.  Play 4v2 in
 one half of the grid, other 2 players in other half.  If D steals, bring across center
 line and 2 opposing players follow to play 4v2 in other half.  can also play 3v3.
coaching points: players must communicate to know who is transitioning with the ball,
 try to quickly win the ball back, stealing team players must move and give good support,
 when ball is stolen must move quickly to other half.

**4v4v4 transition game - field in thirds (middle third smaller), 1 team in each third,
 keeper in each goal (keeper plays for whoever is on Defense).  B|R|W.  Go - The red team
 starts in the middle third and attacks the blue team.  If the blue team wins the ball, the
 red team starts defending to keep them in that third of the field.  This is working on the
 quick transition from offense to defense.  If the red team wins the ball back in the
 offensive third of the field, they continue to attack the ball.  The blue team tries to
 win the ball an get out of their defensive third of the field.  If they succeed in getting
 into the middle third of the field, they then attack the white team in the other third.
Coaching points: must immediately move to D on lost ball, hustle to keep ball in attacking
 third
