Jun. 2, 7P, TBD We will be working on the skills of: 3v3 D **Passing/Receiving/ball handling warm-up - double passing square 5x5 grid inside a 10x10 grid, 3-4 players at each corner (large grid), 1 ball at each corner C D * * * * A B First player at each corner doing pull-back/tap (alternating feet) #1. in/out touch and pass - rt inside foot/outside foot touches until reach inner cone - left push pass to line at right, follow ball to end of line - pull-back/taps, then next group. continue Alt: reverse direction, outside of foot or laces pass #2. outside foot, circle turn, pass - rt outside foot dribble to inner cone (1 dribble per step) - at cone, cw 180 turn around cone with outside of rt foot - left foot inside pass to line at right (facing) continue Reverse Direction Alt: outside of foot or laces pass Coaching points: prep/move feet as ball is coming. lift foot to contact ball in center to trap. plant foot pointing toward pass. all passes solid (not too fast) and accurate (to correct foot of receiver) **3v3 D pursuit 6 lines by midfield (3 attack, 3 D), keeper in goal. field is width of PA. Go - attackers attack and D must quickly recover. play to goal or clear. switch lines. rotate keepers. coaching points: side-by-side challenge for the ball, move body between attacker and ball, shield and "escort" the ball, don't dive in, move the ball away from pressure, other D get goalside, communication, pressure/cover/balance **volley contest players in pairs, 5 yds apart, tosser/volley'er. Tosser tosses ball to volley'er who volleys back (tosser catches). Count volleys successfully returned and caught in 60 sec. switch. 2 turns each, count best total for 1 turn. **Corner kicks 1. NP, FP, PM, short 2. shift! 3. huddle **scrimmage coaching points: D push up, but be able to challenge and pursue as above
