Mar 17, 7:30P, Dome We will be working on the skills of: 1v1 attack and penetration **Passing/Receiving warm-up 4 cones 10 yds apart set up like a "Y", 1-2 players per cone (2 at base and center if available), 1 ball at base of Y C D B (B stands in front of cone - cone is defender) A #1. receive side-on, pass. - B check away, rcv pass from A. B must rcv side-on, across body with back foot. C or D (correct side) check away, rcv 2-touch pass from B. A curved run to B, B curved run to C, C dribble then pass to next in A line. next A pass to other side. #2. rcv, back to D, outside foot turn. - B check away, rcv pass with inside of foot, from A. with same foot to 360 degree turn around cone (small steps), then C checks away, B passes to C using other foot. A curved run to B, B curved run to C, C dribble then pass to next A. next A pass to other side. #3. rcv and juke - C check away, rcv long pass from A. A overlap run around B to C position while B checks away, rcv pass from C. C curved run (outside) to B position while B jukes around cone and passes to D. D dribble then pass to A line, while B curves to D. next A pass to other side. Moves: cut, scissors, Matthews Coaching points: check away before rcv, explode after move, jog in place as ball is coming. lift foot to contact ball in center to trap. trap in direction of next pass. plant foot pointing toward pass. 2-touch. all passes solid (not too fast) and accurate (to correct foot of rcvr) **1v1 15x8 yd grids, line at end of each grid, balls at one side #1. basic 1v1 - defender passes to attacker and closes. attacker tries to dribble to other end line. #2. basic 2v1 #3. basic 2v2 variations: any can be to goal; put 2 puggs in center of big goal - goal counts if not in pugg; 2 puggs at posts of big goal coaching point: positive first touch - move to space behind D, don't stop moving, cut-off D by moving body between D and ball, attack standing leg, 2v1: make defender commit 2v2: work even with ball before penetration, timing of run/pass **4v4 - 4v4 to pugg - limit the amount of allowable (or forward) passes or play 1-touch to encourage more dribbling and 1v1 ** scrimmage w/ keepers to big goals coaching points: passing and control. shoot when you can see the goal clearly.
